Pack Your Bags, The Proton 1 Tank Adventure Is Back

If you’re the proud owner of a new 2019 Proton Saga, Iriz or Persona, Proton wants to take you on an adventure to demonstrate the fuel efficiency of its models and the dynamic handling that’s become pretty synonymous with the brand.

The second running of the Proton 1 Tank Adventure flags off on 14 September 2019 with over RM100,000 worth of prizes up for grabs. Just like the inaugural edition, there’ll be three preliminary rounds that build up to a grand final. Participants will be joined by celebrities during the drive as well.

While the first edition focused mainly on routes in Peninsular Malaysia, the 2019 round will feature two rounds in East Malaysia with one each in Sabah and Sarawak.

The grand final this time will be a real test of participants’ ability to drive economically as the leg starts in Kota Bharu and ends in Johor Bharu with only a single tank of fuel for the entire journey.

One of the main aims of the 1 Tank Adventure is to demonstrate the real-world fuel efficiency of the current range of Proton cars. Participants will be tasked to drive their cars over a variety of roads and traffic conditions to deliver fuel economy figures that can be replicated by other owners on a daily basis.

“Proton would like to demonstrate the efficiency of our cars by embarking on some epic journeys around the country. These figures won’t be obtained in a controlled environment but in driving conditions owners experience every day. Ultimately, we will prove the current range of Proton cars can deliver fuel economy figures that will help keep running costs low,” said Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton.

This time, it won’t just be scenic driving while trying to be light-footed on the throttle. 1 Tank Adventure participants will get to test the impressive ride and handling engineered into Proton cars during dynamic driving sessions held at each round.
