Just a week ago, Honda Malaysia made some amendments to the pricing of its locally-assembled models (CKD) that saw the affected models all get pricier. Well, UMW Toyota Motor wants to remind its customers and take a swipe at Honda Malaysia by reminding them that there is no planned increase in prices of Toyota locally-assembled models at this time.
Earlier in the year, the Finance Ministry gave assurance that if any locally-assembled model was affected by increased prices as a result of the transparent methodology of reporting the Open Market Value, the increase would be fully absorbed or exempted by the Finance Ministry during 2020.
Factors such as exchange rates and tax revisions can affect prices but as far as possible, UMW Toyota Motor has always tried to maintain price stability by absorbing the increases as much as they can, explained its president, Ravindran K.
The locally-assembled portfolio for Toyota currently comprises the Yaris, Vios, Rush, Hilux, Fortuner, Innova and Hiace. Further information on the prices of Toyota models can be found at toyota.com.my or any authorised dealership nationwide.
