Remember how our collective hearts were crushed when McDonald’s Japan announced it’ll be dropping in a Tomica Toyota GR Supra into every Happy Set beginning 1 May 2020? Well, unfortunately we’re not here to tell you that Mekdi will be doing the same.
Happy Set is what Japanese Ronald McDonald refers to a Happy Meal.
Instead, McDonald’s has collaborated with Toyota Gazoo Racing to give is something just as cool; a real-life drift-through for a Happy Set with a pair of actual modified Supras driven by renowned drifters Daigo Saito and Nobuteru Taniguchi.
To celebrate giving away the Tomica Supra with every Happy Set; and let’s be honest that’s truly a cause for celebration, McDonald’s and Toyota announced they’ll be releasing a promo video for the Happy Set giveaway today.
In the awesome video that’s already made us want to order a Happy Meal, you’ll see Saito and Taniguchi in their drift-prepped Supras ordering a Happy Set at a McDonald’s drift-through before doing some tandem drifts and donuts around a giant Big Mac and fries.
Of course, things end with the duo carving a giant McDonald’s logo into the asphalt with some shredded rubber.
One can hope that Saito and Taniguchi would’ve dressed up as Ronald McDonald but they’re probably too cool for that stuff. Enjoy the video while waiting for your Happy Meal to be delivered because we’re still under the Restricted Movement Order guys.
