The film will showcase the origin story of Willy Wonka in his early childhood days and his adventures prior to opening the world’s most famous chocolate factory.
While there's been no official word yet on who will play young Wonka, rumours are floating that the studio is currently eyeing either Tom Holland
or Timothée Chalamet
for the titular role, Collider
Well it’s hard to imagine both actors pulling off the eccentric character played by Depp previously, but we’ll never know until we see it.
The prequel has been in the pipeline for over four years and Warner Bros has finally announced a date for the film.
