It has been a whirlwind for Johnny Depp’s career following his libel lawsuit case and forced resignation from ‘Fantastic Beasts’, which left fans wondering – will we ever see the man on the big screen again?
Well, don’t give up hope just yet as the 57-year-old actor may be taking a role that’s made for him.
Johnny Depp in ‘Beetlejuice’ stripes?
According to Express UK
, Depp will reportedly star in ‘Beetlejuice 2’ alongside his former flame, Winona Ryder.
Tim Burton will be directing the sequel, so it’s no surprise on his choice of casting.
Ryder has confirmed her involvement in the second installment of the film in an interview with Seth Meyers recently.
The actress was appeared in the original 1988 film as Lydia Deetz.
No word yet if Depp would be taking on the role of Beetlejuice played by Michael Keaton previously, or if he would be playing a new character.
But it does make sense for Depp to play the role of Beetlejuice, considering that he excels in playing highly eccentric roles.
Not the first throwback role for Depp
This won't be the first 'throwback' role for Depp, as he is reportedly in talks to star in another childhood cartoon: 'Addams Family'.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star was recently eyed to play Gomez Addams in the Netflix adaptation
of the series, which is also reportedly being developed by Burton.
Well, these roles do sound exciting and fitting for him, so we hope everything will work out well in the end for Johnny Depp.
