We are just days away from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2016 and the dazzling bunch taking part in it just jetted off to the French capital yesterday for the big (sexy) show.
“We’re off!” Kendall Jenner, who is walking the renowned runway for the second time this year, wrote on her Instagram.
She was joined by veteran models such as Adriana Lima and Lily Aldridge, as well as newcomers such as Bella Hadid. Her sister, Gigi Hadid, who is walking the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway for the second time as well, arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport on her own on Sunday.
The “it” models boarded a Victoria’s Secret-branded private jet to Paris, where they’ll strut the catwalk wearing the brand’s show stopping lingerie pieces, including the US$3 million (RM13.4 million) gemstone-encrusted fantasy bra, to be worn by Victoria’s Secret Angel Jasmine Tookes. While the angels are particularly guarded with details of their diet and workout habits, several high-profile New York trainers have spoken up about what goes into making that 'perfect' Victoria’s Secret Angel figure.
The girls will generally train a month before the casting and should they be chosen, they continue to train as well, often upping the intensity until the show. So, it’s not all festivities, undergarments and girly shopping sprees for these models. They work hard and long for those toned physiques.
Gigi shared a photo with her model friends holding French flags and Eiffel Towers with the caption, “We’re ready!!!!! Let’s gooo beautiful ladies!!!! … Coming for you Paris!!!”
And the pictures did not stop once they boarded the flight to Paris. Alessandra Ambrosio tried to earn a new set of wings, as she joined three beaming pilots in the cockpit before taking her seat. “Taking off….next stop #Paris,” she wrote in one post.
Bridget Malcolm said she didn’t pay attention to those who criticised her thin frame. “I know I’m the fittest and the strongest I’ve ever been,” the blonde beauty mentioned. While workout regimes vary by the angel, the common trend is high-intensity cardio and challenging core workouts. Adriana Lima has spoken of her passion for boxing while Joan Smalls outwardly dabbles in the popular martial art, Muay Thai.
Like workout habits, the diet of the angels varies wildly, although most focus on the importance of a healthy diet in general, not just during the lead up to the show. Returning angel Elsa Hosk sings the praises of her green juice regime, which she says that in conjunction with a morning cocktail of warm water, ginger, and cayenne pepper, works to reset and cleanse her system.
All that effort shows and we can’t wait to see these ladies strut their stuff soon!
