The Super Bowl is an annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), the biggest event for professional American football. For most of us who are not exactly fans of American football (because we prefer the real football as the rest of the world know it), we only care about the performances happening during the half-time show.

Many global brands also turn the Super Bowl into a big advertising campaign and business opportunity by forking out cold, hard cash just to get their ads on screen during the game. It is said that the commercials that air during the game’s broadcast can actually rival the actual game that happens on the field. The cost for airtime alone is almost equivalent to a top footballer’s pay. According to the New York Times, a 30-second ad costs up to US$5 million (RM22 million). That’s some serious cash!
