Confirmed: James Wan Will Produce An English Remake Of ‘Train To Busan’

Most of you would know who James Wan is by now, the Sarawakian-born acclaimed director is the mastermind behind a long-list of blockbuster horror flicks such as The Conjuring, Insidious, Annabelle, and The Nun.

Well, it seems that he’ll be adding another horror title under his repertoire soon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Line has won the bidding war to obtain the rights for the English remake and James Wan will be producing it.

James wants to take a train ride infested with zombies this time around.
No word yet on when will the movie be released or who will be casted for the remake.

Train To Busan was an instant hit back in 2016 not only within the Asian region, but also received international acclaim and raked in US$85 million (RM351,687,500) at the box office.

The zombie apocalypse film will return to cinemas soon after it was announced that a sequel is currently in the works.

So, will James Wan’s remake live up to the original South Korean version directed by Yeon Sang-Ho?

Well, one thing’s for sure, the zombies will surely look like The Conjuring or Insidious-level creepy. Can’t wait to see how the American version will turn out. Let’s hope it won’t be an over-ambitious flop.
