Earth's Mightiest Heroes have officially beaten the world's most famous sinking ship.
Last week, 'Avengers: Endgame'
had the biggest movie opening ever in most countries, including Malaysia
, smashing records everywhere.
Now, it has risen to become the second biggest of all-time in just 11 days
After holding the No. 2 spot for 22 years, 'Titanic'
has been overtaken by the latest 'Avengers'
film, earning more than USD2.2bil (RM9.1bil)
worldwide so far.
The superhero blockbuster also pushed past other big openings like 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'
, 'Jurassic World'
and not forgetting, 'Avengers: Infinity War'
is the only movie that is standing at the top spot, for now. The 2009 film by James Cameron made USD2.8bil (RM11.6bil) worldwide when it was first released.
10 years later, that number is only USD600mil (RM2.5bil) shy from what 'Endgame' has earned
Do you think that your favourite superheroes will ever make it to the top?
Well, considering the fact that they became the fastest film to earn USD1bil in the first weekend and USD2bil in less than two weeks, we're not surprised if that happens because 'Endgame'
will probably stay in cinemas for a long, long time.
Speaking of which, the directors Joe and Anthony Russo have announced that the spoiler ban lifts today
and we can finally talk about the movie!
