In August, the kerfuffle between Sony and Marvel over Spider-Man rocked the entertainment world.

Fans and celebrities took to social media to express their disappointment over Spider-Man’s departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), while others sided with Sony.

Well, worry no more because Spider-Man is coming back home to the MCU after it was announced that Sony and Marvel have finally come into agreement over the future of our friendly neighbourhood superhero.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will return to produce the next installment in the‘Spider-Man’ franchise alongside Amy Pascal.

And there’s more in store for MCU fans as part of an agreement between Disney and Sony, Spider-Man will also appear in an upcoming MCU film.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” Feige said in a statement.

Naturally, fans were ecstatic over the reunion and tonnes of hilarious Tweets and memes ensued.

Tom Holland, who plays the titular hero, also posted a video on his Instagram to confirm the news.

His video post – a scene where Leonardo DiCaprio screams “I’m not leaving” and “the show goes on” from ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ - has received over nine million views and comments from celebrities such as Mark Ruffalo, Taron Egerton, Zendaya, The Rock, and many more.

Welcome home, Peter Parker. We’re looking forward to seeing more of you in the MCU! Tom Holland must also probably be relieved over the fear of saying something he shouldn’t.
