You’ve probably heard stories about families who have lost their income during the Movement Control Order (MCO), or stories where our frontliners are struggling to get proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Touched by the plight of our fellow Malaysians, many of you have come forward to do your part by donating to help ease their burden.
And the latest person to join the cause is ERA radio announcer, Radin Amir Affendy.
Selling his own personal collection
Radin recently held an online auction for his branded shoe collection in order to raise funds for those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the MCO.
“I know a lot of you are affected and have lost incomes due to the MCO. Therefore, I will be auctioning my shoe collection and 100 per cent of the money will go to those in need including our frontliners,” Radin said via his Instagram account.
“I am not rich, but I know what it feels like to have nothing,” he added.
The radio announcer managed to raise a total of RM10,075
after selling his shoe collection, which includes brands like Nike, Adidas, and New Balance.
Radin revealed that the Adidas Yeezy 500 and Yeezy 700 managed to fetch a whopping RM2,000 bid for each pair.
Netizens praised the 30-year-old and thanked him for organising the auction that will benefit those who are in need during these testing times.
Good job, Radin! May others be inspired by your act of kindness.
