The Sights And Sounds Of A Ramadan Bazaar

What actually happens at a ramadan bazaar?

The holy month of Ramadan month is a month of purification and reflection marked by fasting, prayer and charity work. For many, it is a time to strengthen their self-discipline and self-control.

In multicultural Malaysia, everyone, regardless of race and religion, look forward to the special month where quality time with family and friends over good food are celebrated when breaking fast.

Ramadan is such a wonderful time to be in Malaysia because of the abundance of local street markets known as Ramadan bazaars where Malaysians from all walks of life can find cheap, good food.

You can literally find everything in Ramadan bazaars, from the familiar nasi lemak and murtabak to the unique Ayam Pasu and Ayam Bajet; there’s literally everything for everyone.

This Ramadan, we at Rojak Daily decided to take a stroll at one of the biggest Ramadan bazaars in the Klang Valley – the Seksyen 13 Shah Alam bazaar.

From fried mee hoon to fried kuey teow, your noodle cravings will be satisfied.
When the hot weather gets you down, a packet of teh ais will cool you down.
You’ll be spoilt for choice with the amount of finger eats that are on sale.
Wash down the yummy food with a wide selection of tea and juices.
If you’re a fan of Roti John, this will make your tummy growl in approval.
A Ramadan bazaar excursion will not be complete until you get some murtabak.
Coconut shakes will quench your thirst in no time.
Colourful and yummy; you can never go wrong with a tray of kuih-muih.

Working hard to make a living.
