These days, a lot of influencers create their content based on pranks.
Some are funny, some are dangerous, but some are no laughing matter, especially when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, influencer Chazynash pulled a prank at a restaurant by wearing the infamous pink band worn by those who are undergoing home quarantine.
In the now-deleted 59 seconds clip, the influencer was seen dining at a restaurant sporting the pink band, which made other customers uncomfortable.
He was then approached by a man who wanted to have a closer look at this band, but it turns out the band wrote “Bini larang keluar dua minggu
” (Wife prohibits me from going out for two weeks). The video ended with his wife chasing him out of the eatery.
The YouTuber, whose real name is Syed Fernarsh Syed Badlishah, has issued an apology and says that the whole prank was staged and everyone seen in the video were all actors.
However, the damage has been done.
Police to take action
According to Astro Awani
, Defense Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says that wearing the pink tag for the sake of pranks is considered an offence.
“He has the intention of cheating others by using KKM-issued wristbands,” Ismail said.
The minister has left the matter in the hands of the police to take further action.
“I hope we can be more responsible. We shouldn’t take this (COVID-19) as a joke or laughing matter. It’s a major issue as it has to do with people’s lives.”
“Don’t assume this is a matter that can be taken lightly or played for laughs because it has far-reaching consequences.”
Well, maybe he could put on a pair of handcuffs as a prank next?
