Green Travel Bubble: More Than Three People Can Travel Together If You're Visiting Green Zones For Tourism Purposes
Been itching to travel somewhere?

Not only can you travel domestically now (provided you're traveling from one green zone to another), you also can travel in groups without worrying about getting summons.

In fact, you won't even have to get individual permits to cross state borders, just get a group permit instead.

You may have to engage travel agents

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said that travel agencies only need to apply for a group police permit for tourism purposes.

"Those travelling in the group under a registered agency need not apply for individual police permits, unlike families or individuals who are travelling on their own.

"We encourage those from green zones to venture out to other green zones. The intention of this exercise is purely for economy recovery and as part of the economic stimulus packages for this year.

"We also want to allow people to be able to visit tourist sites in the green zones," Nancy told The Star.

You may need to get individual permit if you're not using the services of a travel agency, but you can still travel in larger groups once you get permission from the authorities.

Although the government had limited the number of passengers in a car to three from the same family, this rule will not apply to those travelling for tourism purposes.

"If for domestic tourism purposes, the vehicle can be at full capacity for travel from green zone to green zone.

"All travel arrangements must be made by travel agencies and individual tourists throughout the journey. No stopping anywhere in red or yellow zones along the journey, not at RnR and not at petrol stations.

"It is the complete responsibility of the travel agencies to ensure that all the tourists in their groups are free from Covid-19. If there happens to be a case during the journey, then the SOPs from the Health Ministry will kick in," Nancy reportedly said.

The Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) such temperature checks, logging in using MySejahtera App or writing down your particulars and others will still apply during this time.

So, where's your next travel destination?
