The government has decided to place six out of nine districts in Selangor under Movement Control Order (MCO) from 6 to 17 May 2021.
This is in light of high number of COVID-19 cases in the districts.
SOPs are similar to other MCO areas
The six districts that'll be placed under MCO are Hulu Langaty, Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang. If you live in any of these districts, you will not be allowed to cross district borders.
Those living in Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor will continue to be under Controlled Movement Order (CMCO) and can cross state borders.
Under MCO, there will be slight changes to the SOPs besides the no crossing state border part.
Economic sectors and activities, including bazaar Ramadan, will be allowed to operate but with changes in timing.
Food outlets can only operate till 12 a.m.; grocery stores, petrol stations and pharmacies can operate from 6 a.m. till 10 p.m.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the restrictions in MCO districts in Selangor will be similar to those in states that are currently under MCO such as Kelantan.
