Remember when you had to pick a ‘badan beruniform’ for your extra co-curricular back in your schooling days?
We know some of you joined the Boy Scouts, and are extremely proud of your uniform and the badges that you have earned.
Now, imagine someone who’s probably eight to nine times your age sporting the same outfit that your have.
If you’re struggling to think of someone, just envision Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad because our Prime Minister was recently appointed as the president of The Scouts Association of Malaysia
reported that Tun M was also conferred the Boy Scouts’ highest award following the announcement – the Anugerah Bintang Semangat Padi Kelas Pertama (Emas)
National Chief Scout Tan Sri Dr Shafie Mohd Salleh bestowed the award upon Tun M, which is said to be “an exclusive award bestowed only on national and state leaders.”
Shafie also added that Tun M’s appointment would also help raise the image of the association -- not only nationally but internationally, too -- since the operational headquarters of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) has been in Kuala Lumpur for the past five years.
The nonagenarian looks so cute wearing the Boy Scouts uniform, don’t you agree?
Congratulations, Tun M!
