It has been a long and exhausting day for Malaysians as we receive one shocking news after another.
Malaysians are still reeling from Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir’s resignation, and are anxious to know who’s going to fill in for him soon.
While we wait for the news, we were served with another that has devastatingly affected a lot of Malaysians.
Health Minister Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, who recently gave a positive update about the Coronavirus situation in our country, tweeted a sad farewell on Monday (24 February):
“Alhamdulillah. Two more cases of COVID-19 have fully recovered and will be discharged today. No new positive cases,” he wrote at the beginning.
This makes the total recovered patients to 20 people while the remaining two are still being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
“This is my last tweet as Health Minister. Thank you!,” he ended the tweet.
A Great Loss to The Country
Following his tweet, many Malaysians express their sadness over the news. While it’s not sure why or what led to him stepping down, his presence will definitely be missed.
Dr. Dzul has done a great job so far leading the battle against the Coronavirus, to the point that other countries are looking at us especially when it comes to patient recovery.
Malaysia currently has a 90 per cent success recovery rate
for COVID-19 patients.
