MCO Extended? Binge-Watch These Movies And TV Shows That Are NOT On Netflix
In case you haven’t heard, the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced that the government will be extending the Movement Control Order to 14 April.

Some of you may have expected it to happen, some are upset, but regardless of how you feel, it’s for the best.

By now you’ve probably had countless of movie and series marathons on Netflix and you’re at lost on what to watch next.

Well, it’s time to move away from Netflix for a while and watch these interesting films and TV shows that are not available on the popular streaming platform.

#1 ‘Parasite’

Multiple-award winning film. Whole movie is in Korean. Talks about the realities of the upper class and lower class in society. Need we say more?

Cast: Cho Yeo-jeong, Park So-dam, Choi Woo-shik, Jeong Ji-so
Catch it on: tvN Movies (Astro Ch 395)

#2 ‘Westworld’

The Emmy-award winning HBO drama series is finally back to treat fans in the third season. Now that Westworld's android "hosts" are self-aware, their instinct to survive could spell disaster for the real world.

Catch it on: HBO (Astro Ch 411/431)

#3 ‘Pokemon Detective Pikachu’

If you still dream of becoming “the very best that no one ever was”, then you can continue dreaming by watching ‘Pokemon Detective Pikachu’, a spin-off film based on the popular videogame. However, just a warning though, this version of Pikachu is slightly offsetting, thanks to Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal.

Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe
Catch it on: HBO (Astro Ch 411/431)

#4 ‘Chernobyl’

If you’re a history buff and enjoy real-life events being adapted into pop culture, then this is for you. The hit HBO series was based on the real-life Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster in 1986. After the show’s success, many fans flocked to the power plant to take selfies, putting their health and safety at risk. Ironically, now everyone wants to stay home and stay safe.

Cast: Jared Harris. Stellan Skarsgård, Paul Ritter, Jessie Buckley, Adam Nagaitis, Con O'Neill, Adrian Rawlins, Sam Troughton
Catch it on: HBO GO

#5 ‘Harry Potter’

If you don’t know who Harry Potter is, it’s time you sit in the corner and reflect on your life's choices for not knowing the tale of “the boy who lived”. Or alternatively, you can catch all seven movies from this popular franchise and learn a thing or two about magic and muggles.

Cast: Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Alan Rickman
Catch it on: HBO (Astro Ch 411/431)

#6 ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Would you like to go down heartbreak lane once again since you’re already sad that the government is extending the MCO period? ‘Avengers: Endgame’ will do exactly that.

Cast: Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo  Jeremy Renner
Catch it on: FOX Movies (Astro Ch 433)

#7 ‘Toy Story 4’

Pixar fans, if there’s one of the many few movies you’ll never get bored of, it’s definitely ‘Toy Story’. The fourth installment of the movie series is arguably one of the best ‘Toy Story’ films to date, thanks to its touching storyline and outstanding animation.

Cast: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Keanu Reeves, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key
Catch it on: FOX Movies (Astro Ch 433)

#8 ‘Dukun’

We know Malaysians love horror films, and if you’re up for some local flair, ‘Dukun’ awaits you. Based on the chilling true story of notorious murderer and shaman, Mona Fandey,  and awesome portrayal by Umie Aida, this film will definitely give you the creeps.

Cast: Umie Aida, Faizal Hussein, Elyana, Namron, Adlin Aman Ramli, Bront Palarae

#9 ‘Into the Wild with Bear Grylls’

Some of you might be wishing that you could literally go out into the wild right now (including us) but since that’s obviously not possible, this show will help take you there. One of the main reasons to watch this show besides watching Bear Grylls going on extreme adventures is his guests, and one of whom is the legendary Rajinikanth.

Cast: Bear Grylls
Catch it on: Discovery Channel (Astro Ch 551/571)

#10 ‘Crazy Rich Asians’

The film that catapulted Henry Golding’s acting career and helped seal his A-list Hollywood status is one of the most successful films in cinematic history, especially because its main cast are mostly of Asian descendants. Some of you may have never had the time or opportunity to catch it, so now’s your chance.

Cast: Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Awkwafina, Ken Jeong
Catch it on: HBO (Astro Ch 411/431)
