This is a PSA for all of you who may have forgotten.
This coming Monday is a public holiday ya, guys.
Why? It's our Agong's birthday.
A gentle reminder
The Ministry of Human Resources issued a statement yesterday reminding employers that it was compulsory to grant leave to their employees.
The statement also said that companies are not allowed to move the public holiday to a different date and those who have been told to work (because some industries just can't take the day off) will have to be compensated accordingly.
A recent decision
The announcement on the new date celebrating Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s birthday was made on 4 March by Chief Secretary to the Government, Datuk Seri Mohd Zuki Ali.
Beginning this year and for the whole period of his majesty's reign, his birthday will be celebrated on the first Monday of June.
So yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Long weekend!
