Over the years, we've seen plenty of high-end fashion brands taking inspiration from every day items and sell them as super atas
If you think that the trend is over -- you know, since it's already 2021 -- well, you thought wrong.
'Hello, is it me you're looking for?'
Italian luxury fashion brand Bottega Veneta has decided to bring us on a journey down memory lane by launching an accessories collection that is heavily inspired by the coils of a landline phone.
Yup, exactly like this one:
The collection, which consists of a necklace, a ring and a pair of earrings, are now available for purchase at the brand's stores in Japan.
The highlight of the collection is none other than the enamelled sterling silver necklace
, which is priced at a very handsome 247,500 yen (RM9,429)
Unlike your old phone, the necklace comes in three colours: white, pastel purple and jade green.
Next, we have the matching phone cord sterling silver ring
, which retails for 58,300 yen (RM2,221)
If you're wondering why the ring is almost as expensive as the necklace despite it being so small, that is because it boasts an 18 karat gold finish.
Yup, that justifies the price tag, doesn't it? The ring also comes in purple and gold, if white isn't your thing.
To complete the collection, you'll also find a pair of phone cord earrings, which, like the ring, is made of sterling silver with enamel finish and 18 karat gold.
However, unlike the necklace and the ring, this one comes in at only 93,500 yen (RM3,653)
To be honest, we do not know who in their right mind would splurge money on this collection, but hey, fashion is subjective, kan?
So, if you have some extra cash in your bank account and you don't know what to do with it, you can always buy the whole set and surprise your S/O.
Or alternatively, you can give us half the money and we'll DIY this set for you, how about that?
