YouTube has rolled out YouTube Shorts, which is sure to be a competition to Tik Tok, which has fast gained popularity around the world.
YouTube Shorts is the company's short-form video service and an answer to TikTok's popular takeover of video content platform.
According to a report on Mashable
, YouTube Shorts will be available in "more than 100 countries" where the video platform itself is available.
Short videos for your handphones
The new platform will enable both iOS and Android users to upload 15-second videos where users will be spoilt for choice over YouTube's massive library of audio content to include in their shorts.
It will also allow creators to tie multiple video clips together, control speed, set timers and make countdowns.
YouTube Shorts reportedly will also throw in cool features soon such as automatically added captions, adding clips from the phone's gallery to the Shorts camera, as well as the ability to add filters and effects.
It's still work in progress, and in Malaysia you can't see the "Shorts" button that's supposed to replace the "Explore" button yet but if you search for it, you can find a beta version on your phones.
Sound cool but will you stick to Tik Tok or even Instagram reels or are you excited for the new feature on YouTube?
