Dark mode is nothing new in the world of smartphone apps: Gmail, Facebook Messenger, Twitter and recently, Instagram have introduced dark mode in their apps.
Not to be outdone, WhatsApp has decided to introduce dark mode too; not one, but TWO dark modes.
According to a report by tech website TechRadar
, quoting WABetaInfo
, the latest beta release of the popular messaging app for the iPhone suggests that there are two dark mode versions to choose from.
The report said that the first configuration features very dark colours with a black background
, while the second features slightly lighter shades of grey
However, nothing much has been revealed about the feature yet, including whether WhatsApp would allow users to choose which configuration they prefer to use.
“Actually it seems that WhatsApp will automatically choose the configuration, based on the device accessibility settings, but it’s still too soon to say seen that the feature is under development,” said WABetaInfo.
While it remains to be seen when exactly the dark modes will be launched, the fact that they’re featured in the beta version of the app may indicate that the wait may not be long.
Well, are you guys ready for this?
