Recently, Hubert Ian Lee went on Twitter to promote his friend’s artwork, which was a sketch of Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah’s portrait on a Starbucks cup.
The artist, Luqman Hakim, drew the portrait as a tribute to the DG for his great service to the country.
He says he’s proud of Dr Noor Hisham, and wished that he could gift the artwork to him personally.

A day later, the sketch finally got Dr Hisham’s attention, and the surgeon shared Luqman’s artwork on his Twitter account.
“Luqman Hakim, you are a very talented artist. It’s not easy to draw this portrait on a @StarbucksMY cup. Thank you and keep up the good work. Indeed you have a gifted skill,” Hisham wrote.
In an interview with the Malay Mail,
Luqman said he wanted to sketch Dr Hisham’s face for some time and it finally happened when he got an idea to do it on a coffee cup instead of paper.
It took the 27-year-old artist about an hour to finish the portrait and he wasn’t expecting that his artwork would be shared all over social media platforms and receive praises from netizens.
“I felt like I wanted to cry after the pain and challenges that I’ve gone through, all the struggles as an autistic artist.”
“I’m really grateful for my friend Hubert Ian Lee who asked my permission to share my artwork on his Twitter,” he said.
Keep up the good work, Luqman! You check out the rest of his awesome artworks on his Instagram, @luqmanhakimarts
