All this while, the authorities managed to keep the number of active COVID-19 cases to the bare minimum.
However, Monday's one of those days that serve as a reminder that the pandemic is never truly over until it's really over.
On Monday (7 September), the Health Ministry recorded a total of 62 new COVID-19 cases
This is the highest spike in daily cases since 4 June 2020.
As a result, the number of active cases has risen to 207 so far. Six patients are currently in the ICU and and another four require respiratory support.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia to 9,124 as of Monday.
According to the Health Ministry, 56 cases are locally transmitted, with the remaining six cases are imported.
51 of the cases were reported in Sabah, while Kedah saw another four new cases and a new Sungai cluster.
Penang, meanwhile, saw one new case.
Let's continue to be vigilant and play your part, guys! We definitely don't want the numbers to climb to three digits.
