Emergency Measures Initiated After Toddler Confirmed With Bubonic Plague In China
A 3-year-old boy from China’s Yunnan Province has been confirmed to have caught the bubonic plague.

The toddler was infected at a rural village in Menghai, Yunnan sometime last week.

Only one confirmed case so far.

China eventually confirmed that it was indeed the plague on Sunday (27 October).

A report by Express said that the boy is in a stable condition now.

Emergency declared

China, however, has declared an emergency following confirmation of the case.

A level IV emergency response had been initiated to curb the spread of the plague.

Doing their best to stop the spread.

So far, authorities have found three plague-ridden dead rats at the village in Yunnan.

Let's hope that the measures put in place will be able to contain the infection from spreading further.
