A total of 79 families have been evacuated so far.
Selangor disaster management unit head Ahmad Fairuz Mohd Yusof said that they will continue to monitor the Batu 5 area, New Straits Times reported.
In the Kampung Tok Muda area, river banks have also overflowed. However, the situation remains under control for now as neighbourhoods and roads nearby were not affected.
According to the National Hydrographic Centre in Port Klang, the tide reached 5.6m at about 5.50am and flood waters surged to 0.6m.
Ahmad Fairuz said other districts in the state like Sepang, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam have seen no flood reports,
The high tides are expected to last until 21 October. Let’s hope that there won’t be more heavy rains that could worsen the situation.
