If you're staying in Britain, there's some great news coming your way.
The country will be the first in the world to approve and roll out the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine candidate!
Confirming that they would be rolling out the vaccine as soon as next week, an official from the Department of Health and Social Care said that they had agreed to a recommendation by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency for the vaccine to be used.
According to a report by Global New
s, the vaccine would be administered to those in need first.
This would include 'care home residents, health and care staff, the elderly and the clinically extremely vulnerable'.
More countries to get vaccine soon
Several other countries have also secured deals with Pfizer and they include the US, Canada and Japan.
Everyone has been racing to find a safe and effective vaccine for COVID-19 but Pfizer has managed to come on top.
The company announced results of it's clinical tests in early November claiming that the vaccine had an efficacy rate of over 90%.
In order for it to work, Pfizer's vaccine must be taken in two doses, a month apart.
Could this finally spell some good news to end horrible 2020?
