Khairy Jamaluddin made the announcement
Those who have registered and received an appointment to get their AstraZeneca vaccination on 15 and 16 May 2021 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) should check their MySejahtera app to see if it's been rescheduled.
Coordinating minister for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme Khairy Jamaluddin said that currently, there are 19,000 appointments scheduled on the dates, which happens to be the full capacity of the venue.
However, in light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the number of appointments given will be reduced.
Not everyone is affected
"There are 19,000 appointments set for the two dates, so we need to reduce the numbers to about 16,000 and reschedule some of them to new dates.
“We want to avoid overcrowding at the PPV and ensure that physical distancing can be adhered to in a comfortable manner, ” Khairy said during a press conference.
If you're one of the 2,800 or so people affected by the change in appointment dates, you can find out from tomorrow (11 May) onwards.
You will be receiving notifications on your MySejahtera apps with a new date between 17 and 23 May 2021.
If you don't receive a notification, you can stick to your original appointment.
