By now, Malaysians are so accustomed to how politicians organise events or hand out aids to the people: a large convoy, tents with food provided, banners, stickers plastered heavily all over the donation items and press photo op.
But one MP recently impressed netizens with how he handed out tablets in his constituency.
No typical politician treatment needed
Muar MP Syed Saddiq has consistently been giving out free tablets and laptops to students throughout the pandemic and frequently posts updates on it.
Netizens were very impressed that Syed Saddiq managed to wrap the whole thing up in less than a minute.
“YB is a simple man – no feasts, no speeches under the tent. He came and left swiftly, moving on to the next house,” Twitter user @RunningTheWing said.
Another user jokingly said that he’s doing it wrong, as he should’ve brought along a group of media practitioners and have chat with the recipients for at least 30 minutes before giving a box of aids with a huge sticker with his face on it.
Others applauded him for his efforts, and some were even a tad bit jealous.
The former Youth and Sports Minister has reportedly handed out over 1,000 tablets to students in Muar to date.
Keep up the good work, YB!
