Health DG Dr Noor Hisham Adds Yet Another International Award To His Resume

More awards for Dr Noor Hisham, please!

If there's one man who deserves all the awards in the world, it's got to be our Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The 58-year-old has been working tirelessly since the pandemic hit our country in March 2020, and it doesn't look like he'll be getting any rest any time soon.

Therefore, he truly deserves the award recently given to him.

Another feather for his cap

The International Society of Surgery (ISS) has recently awarded the International Surgical Fellowship Award to Dr Noor Hisham, Malay Mail reported.

He received the recognition during the 'The Virtual Surgical Week (VSW 2021)' which started on 30 August.

Newly-minted Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin shared the good news on his Twitter account on Thursday (2 August):
"Congratulations @DGHisham on the recognition of the ‘International Surgical Society Fellowship Award’. It is also a recognition for Malaysia. Well done!," Khairy wrote.

Dr Noor Hisham served as a supreme council member of the ISS executive committee for five years (2017–2019, 2019–2021).

In 2020, Dr Noor Hisham was recognised by China Global Television Network (CGTN) as one of the top three global doctors in the war against COVID-19, alongside US infectious diseases specialist Dr Anthony Fauci and New Zealand Health DG Dr Ashley Bloomfield.

Then, later that year, he also received the 'BrandLaureate Award — Leadership Brand Excellence 2020' recognition from The World Brands Foundation.

With the good work he's been doing, we won't be surprised that more international awards come rolling in for Dr Noor Hisham.
