The Mannequin Challenge has been around for quite a while now ever since it became an internet sensation last year with people from all around the world sharing their attempts.

As with anything viral, the hype usually dies down after a short period of time. In fact, we haven’t seen any videos of new challenges lately.

However, one particular university in Malaysia decided to take up the challenge and set a new record in the country.

And they succeeded!

On 1 April, the university’s Tamil Language Club, Varalatru Thulikal brought together about 650 lecturers, trainee teachers and visitors to attempt the challenge.

The group reportedly stood still for 10 minutes while judges from the Malaysia Book of Records observed their poses.

They successfully achieved it after beating a previous record held by 500 teachers and students from various schools in the area.

Congratulations to the teachers, lecturers and students of UPSI, and especially to the Tamil Language Club for this successful event!

Now who wants to attempt breaking their record?
