First, they run the world and now, they run a football club.
Businesswoman Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan created history on Sunday when she became the president of the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA).
With her election, she became the first ever woman to head the Kelantan football club
According to a report by Bernama
, she snagged 32 votes at the 63rd Annual KAFA Congress on Sunday night, beating her competitor Datuk Muhammad Nasir Hamzah's 16 votes.
The counting of the votes reportedly had to be carried out twice because Muhammad Nasir was not happy after the first count (Bibi had 32 votes to Muhammad Nasir's 19).
In the end, Bibi still emerged victorious.
Deputy KAFA president Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah told the news portal that Bibi would be leading the association from 2018 to 2021.
However, Bibi won't be the first woman to lead a football club.
July last year, Tunku Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah created Malaysian football history when she took charge of Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).
