We’ve said this before and we will say it again: eSports will be a big thing in the coming future and will further cement its status as a sport in many high-ranking international or regional sports events to come.
And the timing couldn’t be more apt when it was announced last month that eSports will officially be contested at the 2019 SEA Games.
According to gaming company Razer, six gaming titles across three digital platforms will be introduced at the bi-annual games – two each for console, mobile and PC.
'Mobile Legends: Bang Bang' was the first game to be confirmed for the SEA Games and recently, another four titles have been added.
The Philippine SEA Games Organising Committee (PHISGOC) and its eSports partner Razer has announced that ‘Dota 2’
and ‘Starcraft II’
will be contested for the PC platform, ‘Arena of Valor’
will be joining 'Mobile Legends'
for the mobile gaming platform, and ‘Tekken 7’
will be used for the console platform.
The sixth and last title for the console platform remains a mystery for now and no news on when it will be confirmed.
The 2019 SEA Games is set to happen from 30 November to 11 December 2019
with the Philippines playing host.
Well, our curious bones are guessing that 'FIFA' might potentially be contested. Which game do you think will be chosen as the last and final title in the line up?
