Aren’t you proud that our local football teams are attracting international attention?
If you have no idea what we are talking about, be enlightened with the fact that Manchester City is considering buying one of the football clubs in Malaysia
This has been confirmed by Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, after discussing with the Premier League champion’s delegation led by its chief executive officer Ferran Soriano, as reported by Astro Awani
“The meeting today is to see how we can work and collaborate closely to develop football. There were many things discussed...for example, the possibility of Manchester City (City Football Group) buying one of the clubs in Malaysia.
“From the ministry’s perspective, we would also like to see.. maybe collaboration in terms of development of youth through National Football Development Programme (NFDP) and as Mokhtar Dahari Academy (MDA). There will be future visits to see how we can move forward on this collaboration,” he said.
Soriano, on the other hand reportedly said the development of Malaysian football and the league in the last year with investment by the government shows that there’s great opportunity.
He however, was mum about the Malaysian football club that they are eyeing for.
Well, let’s just wait and see! Which club do you think it will be?
