Malaysian Man Drives Across 25 Countries Just To Marry His Fiancée

Drive for love!

Remember in every romantic movie, a man would declare that he would cross oceans and travel half the world for a girl?

We all rolled our eyes and laughed at him, because come on, do we really expect him to swim across oceans or climb mountains just to meet a girl?

Well, a Malaysian man literally did just that for the love of his life.

Engku Mohammad Hadri Engku Hassan, whose fiancée is from Germany, decided to drive across 25 countries in his trusty little Toyota AE86 (made popular by the anime 'Initial D') to marry her.

How's that for love?

According to a report by Malay Mail quoting Engku Mohammad Hadri’s friend Lim Wai Hong, the couple reportedly met in Germany in 2007.

Two years later, Engku Mohammad Hadri confessed his love to her and later proposed to her.

The journey is begin 1st county Thailand 🇹🇭 sawadikap alhamdulilah all fine we start our journey smoothly and thx for all of you always support us may god will bless you all love from us ❤️❤️❤️🇲🇾 #RetroHavocMotorsportsWorldTour #RetroHavocOfficial #ae86worldtour #ToyotaAE86 #ToyotaMalaysia #DriveToNurburgring #Nurburgring #TourismMalaysia #VisitMalaysia2020 #MalaysiaTrulyAsia #MyExplorer #ftunedRacingSuspension #YokohamaTyres #RoamingmanMy #CleanBoostOil @retrohavocofficial @roamingmanMy @tokyotuner @thespeedhunters @paultancars @hayashi86 @careta_malaysia @nurburgringnow @toyota_de @toyota

“He wants to show his fiancée he is doing this for her and it’s how much he’s willing to sacrifice — it’s a beautiful story,” Lim told Malay Mail.

What’s even cuter is the fact that Engku Mohammad Hadri’s father helped plan the driving routes and calculate the petrol consumption and mileage for the journey.

All in all, the man's entire journey would cost him about RM250,000, but hey, you can't put a price tag on true love, right?

Tourism Malaysia also helped him and his two co-drivers with visa-related matters as the drive, known as The Retro Havoc Motorsport World Tour, will be promoting the 'Visit Malaysia Year 2020 (VM2020)' campaign at each destination.

The expedition will reportedly take 98 days, and last we checked, he is currently heading to Luang Namtha, Laos. You can follow his progress by checking out his Instagram account.

Good luck and stay safe, Hadri! Do update us when you reach Germany.
