This makes her the first Malaysian artistic woman gymnast to qualify
for the Olympics after 20 years.
Farah Ann is the third Malaysian gymnast to qualify for the Olympics, after Au Li Yen in 2000 and Shu Wai in 2004.
According to a report in New Straits Times
, the 25-year-old finished 16th out of 20 in the qualifying session of the individual all-around event at the World Championships held in Stuttgart, Germany.
Her coach Ng Shu Wai also competed the 2004 Athens Olympics under the men's artistic event.
