Perhaps it had an inkling of what was in store!
Officials in Sydney were left chasing after a male baboon and two female baboons who escaped from the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where the male was scheduled to have a vasectomy.
Apparently, the baboons had escaped from their transport vehicle when being brought to the hospital for the operation.
Following several hours of roaming around the nearby areas, the troup of baboons were finally rounded up by officials at a parking lot and returned to the facility by animal handlers from Taronga Zoo.
According to The Herald, New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazzard later explained that the male baboon was at the facility to undergo a vasectomy so that he could live "quietly and peacefully" with the rest of his troop in Wallacia.
“They don’t want him to continue breeding with the small troop he’s in,”
“So in order for him to stay, the decision was taken that he should have a vasectomy.”
The females were there simply “to keep him calm,” he said.
What maddening monkey business! ;)
