Today, the Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed that 12 of its healthcare workers from have been infected with COVID-19.
MOH director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the 12 were from 3 private healthcare sectors.
"One of the 12 MOH staff is currently in ICU on ventilatory support," he said in a statement.
Please be truthful about medical history
Earlier Datuk Dr Noor Hisham had released a statement urging members of the public to be truthful if they suspected that they had COVID-19 or had recently come in contact with someone who had COVID-19.
He warned that not disclosing medical history and contact information could put medical staff at risk.
"This virus knows no boundaries, regardless of your race, religion or wealth status, even more so if you are a healthcare worker at the frontline of this war."
"Our simple message to the public today: Please help us to help you. Stay at home," he said.
