They now have a platform to sell their vegetables.

The current COVID-19 and Movement Control Order (MCO) situation has affected many Malaysians, especially those who own and operate a small or medium business.

Last week, the plight of local farmers in Cameron Highlands came to light when they were forced to dump tonnes of perfectly fine, edible vegetables due to various problems and restrictions.

No vegetables to sell = no income for these local farmers, so you see how this is actually bad for them.

Thankfully, a local enterprise has stepped up to offer a solution for these farmers.

Eliminate wastage

Lazada Malaysia has recently created a special 'Cameron Farmers' section for them to sell their vegetables online.

According to the e-commerce platform, a group of farmers has started selling their produce on the platform since last Thursday (26 March) and the response has been pretty great.

Over that weekend, Lazada said that the farmers managed to move 1.5 tonnes of vegetables daily.

Leo Chow, Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Malaysia, said in a press statement that they managed to get the farmers on the platform in less than 48 hours.

Well done, you guys.

Help these poor farmers out.
So, if you're looking for some fresh produce, you can check out the 'Cameron Farmers' section by clicking here.

Not just that, you could also shop for fresh seafood on their MyFishman section, as well as other grocery items on their Mymarket2u platform.

All your grocery/marketing needs settled, right? If you're looking for fresh vegetables, try and get them from Lazada, OK? Help those poor farmers out a bit.
