Zoo Negara Managed To Raise RM70,000 From Donations, But It Barely Covers Operational Costs

They still need some help.

Guys, remember Zoo Negara’s plea for help to cover its operating costs during the movement control order (MCO) period last month?

Guess what? Their plea has caught the attention of many people and they managed to raise a total of RM70,000.

Yay!

Still not enough to cover operational costs

Malay Mail, quoting Zoo Negara’s Deputy President, Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana, the amount was donated by individuals in and out of the country.

Despite that, he said the amount is not enough to cover the operating costs, which reportedly comes to about RM1 million per month.

He said the zoo is currently surviving by digging into its emergency fund which can only last them up to two or three months.

The zoo still needs our help.
“Even if the Covid-19 pandemic heals, for the next six months or so after that not many would visit the zoo as they would need to recover their own financial setbacks.

“Please support us with monetary contribution — no matter how big or small —  it will really help us amid these trying times,” said.

So, boys and girl, your help is still very much needed in this crucial time.

You can help them out by participating in the Adopt An Animal campaign by heading over to their Facebook page or official website for more information.
