According to a press release by the Malaysian Health Ministry and World Health Organisation (WHO), the drug trials will start the test soon.

The nine Health Ministry hospitals involved in the trials are Tuanku Fauziah Hospital, Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Penang Hospital, Sungai Buloh Hospital, Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Melaka Hospital, Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, Sarawak General Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The trials will be led by a doctor from the Penang Hospital.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah told the news portal that the research will be led by Penang Hospital's Infectious Disease consultant Dr Chow Ting Soo, with a team of 16 Infectious Disease physicians and pharmacists at their respective hospitals.

Dr Noor Hisham said that the trials will test out of four treatment protocols using different combinations of the drugs Lopinavir/Ritonavir, Interferon beta, Remdesivir, Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine.
