We've come a long way since the whole Tourism Malaysia logo saga:
Tourism Malaysia, who received massive online flak in 2018 for unveiling an amateurish 'Visit Malaysia 2020' logo, has captured the world's attention - for a good reason, this time.
The best of the best
According to a report by The Star Online
, a travel video produced by the local tourism board has won an international award.
The video, titled 'Discover Breathtaking Malaysia', won the silver award for Non-Broadcast under the Travel/Tourism 2020 category at the 41st Annual Telly Awards.
The award-winning video was produced by Tourism Malaysia in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2020.
Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Musa Yusof told the news portal that the international recognition proves that Malaysia has what it takes to boost its tourism sector again.
"We are proud to showcase the beauty of Malaysia, and what better way to do that in this climate than by utilising our digital assets and giving our global audience a sneak peek through virtual experience, ” said Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Musa Yusof.

The four-minute video showcases the iconic attractions, hidden gems as well as its cultural and gastronomic offerings in the country.
To make the win a little bit sweeter, the video went up against scores of other entries from around the world.
In the end, the New York-based Telly Awards Judging Council -- comprising of over 200 executives from television networks, production companies, agencies and video platforms worldwide -- picked 'Discover Breahtaking Malaysia' as the best of the lot.
The Telly Awards, founded in 1979, is an annual award ceremony that recognises and rewards promising work across many categories including commercials, campaigns and promotional videos.
Well done, Tourism Malaysia! You've made the country proud.
